Who’s on stage

RNS Moves, our inclusive ensemble made up of disabled musicians and non-disabled members of Royal Northern Sinfonia, with special guest Rapasa Nyatrapasa Otieno. Rapasa is a singer, songwriter and virtuoso of the nyatiti, a traditional eight-string lyre from the shores of Nam Lolwe (Kenya’s Lake Victoria).

What they’re playing

A fusion of sounds and cultures from across the world. Rapasa Nyatrapasa Otieno introduces us to the nyatti and his compositions, deeply rooted in traditional storytelling from the Lüo community in western Kenya. You’ll also hear music by African composers Ayo Bankole and Tunde Jegede, Welsh harpist Robert Ap Huw, Antonín Dvořák and Jessie Montgomery.
