Make Music
Afro-Brazilian Celebration Day: Samba (Dance) Workshop
A practical dance workshop
The drums, the costumes, the energy. Come and experience a taste of Brazil and Samba, right here at The Glasshouse!
Whether you have danced Samba before, love to move, or have only ever admired the sparkles, colour and joy of Rio Carnival from afar, this lively Samba dance workshop is the perfect chance to get involved, try something new and feel the energia of Carnaval.
Led in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, the workshop will introduce you to the basics of Samba no Pé, the iconic solo Samba style seen in Brazilian Carnival. You will learn the foundations step by step, explore the rhythm and history behind the dance, and build confidence moving to the irresistible sounds of Samba.
This workshop is designed for all skill levels, so no previous dance experience is needed. We will start with the basics, get comfortable with the movement, embrace body confidence and gradually build towards a fun, feel-good choreography.
Expect uplifting music, lots of energy, plenty of smiles and a welcoming space to dance, move and celebrate. Come ready to shake off your week, connect with the rhythm and bring a little Carnival sparkle to your day!
