Who’s on stage
Royal Northern Sinfonia will be joined by Edwin Outwater and Drag superstar Peaches Christ who is jetting in from San Fran to help them throw the ultimate Christmas party. Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz joins them, plus an appearance of drag – and singing – royalty Le Gateau Chocolat.
If that wasn’t enough to wet your appetite, we’re chuffed to announce – two true angels of the north joining the line-up. Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK’s North East finalists Tomara Thomas and Michael Marouli joining our very own Royal Northern Sinfonia on stage for a camp Christmas extravaganza with an orchestral twist!
What’s on the line-up
Expect lots of festive favourites given an orchestral – and camp party – twist. Sleigh Ride – or should it be Slay? – makes an appearance and we doubt you’ve ever heard The Twelve Days of Christmas quite like this before.
Is it a new thing
This is the first time A Christmas Gaiety has been done outside of London. We saw some of it at The Royal Albert Hall and thought we needed to bring something similar to Gateshead, but this time with our own fantastic orchestra. It’s high camp, high quality fun – but we know we’ll be finding glitter for weeks after…
