The Glasshouse is a home for artists – a place where they’re supported, inspired, and celebrated. After all, music lives and grows here.
For the last twenty years, we’ve been helping artists grow so as part of our birthday year celebrations, we’re looking back through the archive and looking ahead to the future as we enter our most creatively ambitious era yet.
We’re celebrating twenty years of musicians and music making at The Glasshouse. From Sage One regulars, our Artistic Partners and musical family, first time performers and everyone in between.
We’ll pass the mic, inviting artists to share their stories, experiences and memories from life on and off the stage. Head behind the scenes to get a taste of life backstage and on the road. Speak to our Artists in Residence to learn more about their creative process. Discover our new favourite bands with BBC Introducing. Get to know our Artistic Partners. And hear more from the people who work with artists every day.
Whether you’re already a musician, thinking about becoming one, or just a music fan who likes to get close to the action, you’ll find a home at The Glasshouse.

First notes to headline sets
“So many inspirational experiences here have helped to make me into the artist I am today. Learning and having fun in the Folkworks classes as a kid, developing as an independent musician in Summer Studios, to becoming an Artist in Residence. It’s an exciting and really supportive community to be part of as a musician.”
Frankie Archer
“The Glasshouse allowed me to experience what it’s truly like to be a professional artist in my vital early stages by means of performing, rehearsing and using its high end facilities through its programmes… A huge confidence builder for me that I’ll continue to take with me long into my career as an artist.”
Finn Forster
