We’ve got six buzzing bars, a cosy café and a Brasserie — all under one iconic roof. Whether you’re after a pre-gig pint, a post-class snack or a catch-up with friends, drop by and make yourself at home.
And the best bit? We’re a charity so every bite, brew and beverage helps support The Glasshouse, keeping music accessible to all. Cheers to that.
Café
Settle in with a drink (hot or cold), one of our fresh-made sandwiches, soups, or salads, or something tasty and warming from our hot food menu whenever and whatever you’re here for.
Bars
We’ve got five bars and a proper pub to explore. Expect craft beers, great wines and local pours – with views that only get better the higher you go.
Proper local
We’re proud to work with local breweries, distilleries and producers to serve up authentic North East flavours in every bite and sip. Think gins distilled in the heart of the city, ales inspired by Northern landmarks and dishes made with the freshest seasonal ingredients around.
Proper good
It’s about looking after where we all call home too. We reduce waste where we can, use plant-based packaging and when waste does happen, make sure it’s processed into something useful. Curious to know more?

Drink in the details
- Bars open two hours before showtime, so there’s plenty of time to grab a pre-show tipple
- Fancy skipping the queues? Pre-order your interval drinks at any Stage Bar before the show starts and we’ll have them ready and waiting
- You’re welcome to take drinks into most spaces – all of Sage Two is fair game. Just a heads-up: if you’re in Sage One Level 2 or above, it’s capped bottles only up there
- Show your ticket at our ground floor bars for 10% off drinks in the 30 minutes after the show

- From crisp whites to velvety reds, we’ve got the bottle (or glass) to match your mood

- If it’s a coffee and cake kind of visit, you’ll find hot drinks on our Café menu
