This accessibility statement applies to theglasshouseicm.org.
This website is run by The Glasshouse International Centre for Music. Everyone is welcome at The Glasshouse and we’re committed to making sure our building, spaces and website are available to everyone too.
For our website, this means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible this website is
We know our website is reaching the end of its lifespan. This means some features and functionality aren’t as accessible as we’d like. To address some of these accessibility challenges on our current website until we’re in a position to launch a new website, we consulted accessibility specialists Accessible By Design, to conduct a full audit of our website and used the learnings to make critical changes to our website.
We now conduct annual website accessibility assessments against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 and best practices.
Due to the age of our website, we know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Some parts of a third-party booking system Tessitura may be incompatible with some assistive technologies.
- Some of our PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software. Where possible we provide a Word Document download in addition to PDF documents.
- Most livestreams will not be BSL signed. But all livestreams, podcasts and videos will include captions or transcriptions.
- The ‘What’s On’ date picker is not fully accessible to keyboard users. We’re currently working on a new date picker that will resolve this issue.

The Glasshouse is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
The website is currently partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AAA standard.
Our website was completed in 2018, with styling amendments made with our name change in 2023. We assess the accessibility of this website through an annual audit and will publish updates to compliance on this page in December of each year.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 31 July 2026. It was last reviewed on 31 July 2026.
Our website was audited in October 2025 against the WCAG 2.2 Level AAA standard. The audit was carried out by Accessible by Design, who manually assessed a sample of pages representing the key user journeys on the website.
Following this audit, our web developers Substrakt have fixed the accessibility issues identified during the testing process to ensure the site meets the required standards.
