The Water of Tyne: Reimagined

The Water of Tyne: Reimagined

Part treasure hunt. Part listening lounge.

This three-part audio installation by artist, composer and producer, BISHI, reimagines the traditional Tyneside folk ballad, bringing together influences from across the world with sounds inspired by The Glasshouse itself.

Blending industrial field recordings, Hindustani Ragas and choral singing the piece draws connections between the building’s modern engineering and its 17th-century subterranean history.

A textured soundscape of industrial field recordings.

Movement III

A final synthesis. Voices and mechanical sounds collide – something entirely new.
