The Snowman Christmas

RNS: The Snowman in Concert

Part of Christmas at The Glasshouse

Duration – Approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes (including an interval)

Eleanor Mooney Narrator
Royal Northern Sinfonia

We’re walking in the air… Let yourself be whisked off into the cold, starry night with The Snowman. This enchanting family favourite celebrates it’s 40th birthday this year and our annual screening with live music from Royal Northern Sinfonia is a true Sage Gateshead tradition – Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without it!

We’ve got a brand new story for the first half of the concert – In the Swamp By the Light of The Moon by Frann Preston-Gannon; this is a new commission composed by Iain Farrington. It’s a heartwarming tale about a lonely frog looking for friends to sing with and it’s been set to music especially for Royal Northern Sinfonia this Christmas. It’s lots of fun and there’ll be plenty of opportunities to join in and sing along!

The performance on 22 December at 2pm is a Relaxed Performance and will be BSL Interpreted.
