What’s happening in the music
This is music that was made to move people – literally. Enjoy sweeping strings, bright brass, swinging rhythms and melodies that feel familiar, even if it’s your first time hearing them.
Some tracks will be relaxed and romantic. Others will lift the room completely. It’s all about that shared feeling – when the band begins, everyone becomes a part of it.
Whether you’re dancing every step or just soaking it in, enjoy an afternoon of music bringing people together.
What’s a tea dance?
A tea dance is exactly what it sounds like – and a little bit more.
It’s an afternoon of live music, dancing (if you fancy it), and easy-going joy. No pressure. No dress code. No expectations.
Experience Sinfonia of London, against the beautiful backdrop of the River Tyne, playing music you’ll quickly fall in love with.
The dancefloor is open to everyone – seasoned dancers, total beginners, and enthusiastic shufflers all welcome.
The best bit – it’s all free.
Come for five minutes or stay the full two and a half hours. Dance every track or not at all.
It’s about sharing a moment, feeling the music and maybe leaving a little lighter than you arrived.
