About Samling Academy
The singers you’ll see this afternoon have been selected by audition for a unique programme of coaching in classical singing. The majority of this year’s intake come from state secondary schools between the Tweed and the Tees, alongside singers from Durham and Newcastle universities. Under the direction of Caroline Dowdle, vocal coach at Royal Opera and Ballet, and a team of renowned vocal teachers, pianists and stagecraft experts, they’ve been raising their talent to new levels and this concert showcases their achievements.
