Sam Lee – Songdreaming Tour
Inventive. Inclusive. Songs with a vision of what could be.
In March 2024, Sam Lee releases his fourth studio album, Songdreaming, following the success of Old Wow (2020). The album marks a progression in Lee’s musical evolution, blending traditional folk roots with innovative reinterpretations for modern audiences.
Teaming up with producer Bernard Butler and collaborator James Keay, the album showcases instruments from across the world including double bass, percussion, violin, Arabic Qanoon, and Swedish Nyckelharpa.
Songdreaming encompasses acoustic ballads, drone soundscapes, and electric guitars as you can hear in lead single “Meeting Is A Pleasant Place” with London’s Trans Voices choir, who make their recording debut on the track. Lyrically, the album delves into the precarious state of the natural world, a consistent theme in Lee’s work.
Overall, Songdreaming is hailed as Lee’s most expansive and realized work to date, capturing his artistic essence and deep connection to nature.
