Fearless. Distinctive. A force of nature with star quality.
Ruth Lyon, a potent Newcastle singer-songwriter, weaves deeply evocative narratives and meditations, with an artistry that balances delicacy and strength, combining analogue textures and angular indie-folk sensibilities.
With her debut album ‘Poems & Non-Fiction’, produced with John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding) out this year, she cements her place as one of the most distinct and fearless voices in contemporary music.
Fresh from an extensive European tour with Zaho de Sagazan, plus a triumphant headline tour of her own in March of this year, Lyon’s also played The Great Escape, Glastonbury, and New York City Hall, where she received the prestigious Danny Award. She was recently named one of the UK’s 100 most influential disabled people on the Power 100 list and awarded the flagship PPL Momentum Grant.
Lyon’s got acclaim for recent releases from all corners of UK music press. She’s been championed as a ‘Future Artist’ by BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, and spotlighted by CLASH Magazine, The Line of Best Fit and Consequence.
