Royal Northern Sinfonia are delighted to be undertaking their first international tour since 2019 and travelling to South Korea for Tongyeong International Music Festival. The orchestra will perform four concerts during the festival, three as part of the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra with conductor David Robertson and artists in residence Leonidas Kavakos (violin) and Sunwook Kim (piano). Principal Conductor Dinis Sousa will lead a solo concert, featuring music by Thomas Ades, Haydn and Mendelssohn.


Tongyeong International Music Festival is an annual music festival held in Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. Founded in 2002, the festival is dedicated to the Korean composer Isang Yun (1917 – 1995). The festival’s current artistic director is award-winning composer Unsuk Chin.
