About the musicians
Debasmita Bhattacharya
Debasmita Bhattacharya is a rising star sarod player gaining acclaim for her remarkable talent. Hailing from a musically rich family in Kolkata, she represents the Senia Shahjahanpur Gharana tradition, learning first from her father and guru Sarode maestro Pandit Debasish Bhattacharya.
Later she entered into the tutelage and guidance of the late Sarode virtuoso, legendary Padma Bhushan Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta of the Senia Shahjahanpur Gharana.
She last performed in the North East back in 2017 and we are delighted to bring her back again for another Riverside Ragas performance.
