About Amrita Kaur
Amrita Kaur is a gifted vocalist whose healing and emotional music spans from lullabies to anthems. Born in the UK with Malaysian roots, she moved to New Zealand over two decades ago and began performing Sikh kirtan alongside her father, the well-known kirtaniya Bhai Yadvinder Singh, by age 7. Trained in Indian classical music under Professor Shukdev Madhur from 11-years-old. Amrita’s artistic journey blends tradition and innovation. Her thesis for her Master’s in Architectural Studies explored visually translating Indian classical ragas into architecture. Her repertoire spans devotional, Sufi, folk, and pop music. Amrita made history as the first Sikh to perform a solo concert in Lahore as part of “Virsa Heritage Revived, bridging cultures worldwide. This performance has garnered millions of YouTube views. Amrita also has large Spotify and Instagram followings.
