Mozart's Serenade

Mozart's Serenade

Part of Royal Northern Sinfonia: Out and about

Morpeth Methodist Church

Who’s on stage

Join Royal Northern Sinfonia for a vibrant evening concert that brings together bold spirit, elegance, and charm.

What they’re playing

We open with the irresistible energy of Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances paired with Beethoven’s Octet – written for the virtuoso wind players of his patron’s court.  In the second half, discover the striking voice of Ruth Gipps, a pioneering British composer and bassoonist whose Wind Octet crackles with character and conviction. We close with Mozart’s Serenade in E flat – classical grace at its most glowing.

Expect vivid colours, crisp textures, and the signature clarity that makes Royal Northern Sinfonia’s sound so distinctive.
