Technical. Detailed. Push beyond the fundamentals.

This high-level Advanced Guitar Techniques Masterclass is designed for confident guitarists looking to push beyond fundamentals and deepen both their technical control and musical expression.

Led by Gary Dunn, the session combines a hands-on workshop format with short, focused lecture-style segments that place advanced techniques into real musical context. Rather than treating technique in isolation, Gary will explore how and why these ideas are used in songs, arrangements, and performance situations.

The masterclass will focus on a small selection of advanced guitar techniques, such as hybrid picking, string skipping, controlled legato, and pinch or tapped harmonics – examining how each can be applied musically and expressively. Through guided demonstrations and song-based examples, students will see how these techniques function in real repertoire, and how they can be incorporated naturally into their own playing.

Participants will be encouraged to engage actively throughout the session, with opportunities to observe, discuss, and experiment with the techniques as they’re introduced. This masterclass is ideal for guitarists who are technically confident and keen to refine their sound, expand their vocabulary, and gain fresh inspiration from advanced, practical ideas.
