The Songwriting Social
In the building
Got songs in progress, ideas you want to explore or just looking for time and space to write? The Songwriting Social is a relaxed, welcoming space for songwriters of all levels to create, collaborate and connect with other creatives.
Whether you’re looking for feedback, new collaborators or simply dedicated time to focus on your music, each session gives you the freedom to work towards your own goals and explore ideas alongside other writers.
Each session follows a loose structure, with plenty of time to write, experiment and collaborate. Sessions include optional prompts and creative briefs to spark ideas, as well as short talks and demonstrations exploring different songwriting topics such as lyric writing, melody, structure, editing, hooks, collaboration and the music industry.
Most of the time is dedicated to creating – whether that’s working on your own songs, trying out new ideas, collaborating with other writers or getting feedback and guidance from the facilitator. There’s also an informal opportunity to share works in progress, ask for feedback or simply listen and support other writers. Sharing is always optional.
You can expect:
- A relaxed and supportive space to create
- Opportunities to meet and collaborate with other songwriters
- Constructive feedback and encouragement
- Creative prompts to spark new ideas
- Time to develop existing work or start something completely new
- Opportunities to perform and share your music
Bring an instrument, notebook, laptop or just an idea. Whether you’re finishing an EP, preparing for a writing session or writing your very first song, The Songwriting Social is a space to keep creating alongside a community of fellow songwriters.
