Welcoming. Festive. A stage for everyone.

Join us for a relaxed and inclusive Open Mic Night, open to solo singers performing with backing tracks and acoustic bands looking for a supportive space to share their music. This event is all about encouragement, community, and enjoying live performance, whether it’s your first time on stage or you’re a seasoned performer trying out new material.

Expect a welcoming audience, a low-pressure atmosphere, and plenty of good vibes. Solo artists are welcome to perform with backing tracks, and acoustic bands can take the stage too (please note: this event isn’t suitable for drum kits, but light percussion and acoustic setups are welcome).

Our open mic nights are designed to be friendly, accessible, and supportive, a place to build confidence, connect with other musicians, and celebrate live music in all its forms. Come along to perform, cheer others on, or simply soak up the atmosphere.

Fancy taking to the stage?

We’d love to hear from you.

Our Open Mic Night welcomes singers performing with backing tracks or instrument accompaniment, vocal groups, instrumentalists and acoustic ensembles. Whether you’re trying something new, testing out some material or just fancy sharing a few songs, this is a supportive space to give it a go.

To help us fit as many performers into the night as possible, we can’t accommodate full drum kits. Light percussion and acoustic setups are absolutely welcome.

To register your interest drop us an email at learning@theglasshouseicm.org and tell us:
– Your name / performer or group name
– Group size
– What you’ll be performing and your instrumentation
– Any sound or tech requirements, such as backing track playback, DI input, vocal mic, keyboard line or acoustic instrument mic
– Where you’d ideally like to perform in the running order – beginning, middle, end or anywhere
– Your approximate set length, up to a maximum of 15 minutes
– Any accessibility or additional requirements

A few things to help the night run smoothly

Bringing a backing track?
You can send your audio files to learning@theglasshouseicm.org in advance, or bring a playback device with a headphone jack on the night.

USB sticks can sometimes decide not to play ball, so if you’re bringing your audio on one, we recommend having a backup option too.

Your time on stage
Each act can have up to 15 minutes to perform, helping us give as many people as possible their moment in the spotlight.

Your performance slot
We’ll allocate slots in advance wherever possible and share the final running order closer to the event. Spaces are limited, so registering your interest doesn’t automatically guarantee a performance slot.

If we need to check anything about your setup or performance beforehand, we’ll get in touch.

And performers don’t need to buy a ticket – if you’ve got a confirmed performance slot, you’re all set.

Then all that’s left to do is choose your songs, practise your Christmas number if you’re feeling festive, and get ready to take the stage.
