Foyle Music Centre

£99 for 9 week course

Aimed at musicians, songwriters, producers and anyone curious about how songs are built, this course will introduce you to the musical foundations behind songwriting.

Sessions will explore how melody, harmony, rhythm and song structure work together to create songs that connect and flow. Through guided exercises, listening examples and creative workshops, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build chord progressions
  • Craft memorable melodies
  • Develop your musical ideas into complete, well-structured pieces.

No advanced theory knowledge is required – just your instrument, curiosity and a love of music. By the end of the course, you’ll have a deeper understanding of the “why” behind the music you love, as well as an original composition of your own.

The 10-week course will be led in small groups, giving you plenty of time to develop your ideas, ask questions and explore different songwriting approaches with guidance from an experience musician.

This class is for adults over 18.
