What's happening in the music?
We have two mighty pieces of music distilled down for performance in more intimate surrounds. The emotional directness of Metamorphosen, a piece which addresses the less attractive sides of human nature, still relevant now, and Mahler’s sometimes naive, sometimes childlike Symphony No.4. Played in a version for a smaller chamber ensemble, it’s a chance to enjoy it in an entirely new way.
