LYR
plus Memphis Gerald
Innovative. Alchemistic. Poetry and music extraordinarily fused.
L.Y.R. are UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, producer and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Pearson, and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Richard Walters. After sell-out shows in previous years, a breathtaking performance at the 2025 BBC Proms, and following two highly acclaimed albums, the trio are undertaking their most extensive tour to date. Soaring vocals, ethereal soundscapes and extraordinary lyrics have made LYR shows an unmissable and unforgettable experience, from a group who are now an essential part of the contemporary music scene.

plus Memphis Gerald
Anywhere there’s an ache is comfortable territory for Memphis Gerald. Plus his deft flat picking and wry burr. Born and raised in Scotland, Memphis weaves Folk guitar into his love of storytelling and song writing. As the listener delves into Memphis’s wandering ballads, they discover tender insights. Into the life of a smalltown, working lad, his family, relationships and upbringing.
Like any folk musician, Memphis also reworks traditional songs to reveal forgotten sentiments. His self-penned songs invite audiences to read between the lines and find humour in life’s hardships. Introverted yet relatable, Memphis Gerald is difficult to place. Perhaps somewhere between Dick Gaughan and Scott Hutchinson. An artist who plucks at the essence of what it is to be human.
