Jasmine Myra
Elegant. Grounding. In full bloom.
Jasmine Myra makes a statement with her third album Where Light Settles. The composer, bandleader and saxophonist is a distinctive and confident voice in UK music. The new record shows her evolution since her other critically acclaimed works Horizons (2022) and Rising (2024).
Where Light Settles is a collection of nine beautiful and powerfully grounded compositions. On it, Myra expresses thoughts on life, growth, and progression through music. It’s also powered by her vision of duality. Bittersweet and intimate yet expansive.
To see this blossoming musician live, Sage Two will be the perfect setting. We can’t wait to see you there.

More about the album
Where Light Settles was brought to life over five days at The Nave studios in Myra’s native Leeds, recorded live with her long-standing ensemble. As well as writing all the music, this is Myra’s first self-produced record. Gondwana Records’ Matthew Halsall has contributed as co-producer. The album’s colourful sound is shaped by Myra’s long-standing affinity with film music and cinematic composition.
Also featured is a 15-piece ensemble conducted by Leeds’ Ancient Infinity Orchestra bandleader Ozzy Moysey (also Gondwana labelmates). It’s let Myra to focus fully on the tenderness and emotional depth of her alto saxophone lines. Her playing sits deliberately within the arrangements weaving through all the other instruments. The result? An expansive yet intimate body of work. Rich in detail and emotional clarity, this confirms Jasmine’s one of the most unique and exciting young composers and instrumentalists in the UK.
