Janina Fialkowska Pianist
The concert, in aid of British red Cross will consist of pieces by Mozart, Faure, Poulenc, Ravel,Debussy and Chopin.
“ You may never play again ” These were words Janina Fialkowska heard after she was diagnosed with a rare cancer in her left arm in 2002. After gruelling treatment, she made a triumphant return to the stage in 2004. Fialkowska has performed all over the world and recently became the recipient of The Governor General of Canada’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in Classical Music.
“ Her ordeal seems to have released a new lease of life in her music-making… the playing is sheer bliss. If you buy one Chopin selection this year, make it Fialkowska’s .” – The Sunday Times
