About Commune

Frankie Archer PRESS4 web

Commune welcomes you into the music, as a creator and collaborator, not just an observer. Blurring the edges between performer and audience, Frankie invites you to become a part of the performance. She has deconstructed some of her songs so that certain parts can be controlled by people in the room – you’ll be able to change sounds through movement and touch!

When you first come in you’ll find music stations in the middle of the room. The space will be open so you can move around, or simply take a seat and watch the show.

Frankie welcomes you in to look around and be nosy with all the fun tech she’s discovered. She will introduce the experience and how you can be involved at the very start, then you’re welcome to join in and control the music as much or as little as you want.

About Frankie Archer

Frankie Archer’s imaginative and bold electro-alt trad shows her deep love of electronic music and her Northumbrian folk roots. Her music speaks of human experiences through the years, captured in old folk songs and reflected through a new experimental lens, especially focussing on the stories and perceptions of women and girls.

Guardian ‘One To Watch’, Frankie has been featured on ‘Later… With Jools Holland’, BBC Glastonbury coverage, BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, and championed by BBC Radio 2, 3 and 6Music, NME, Bandcamp and Clash Magazine.

Live, Frankie Archer is thrilling, building mesmerising worlds which she invites the audience to be part of.
