Flook
Celebrating 30 years in 2025
Symbiotic. Brilliant. A transcendent experience.
Flook began in 1995 as a ground-breaking union of musicians and instruments. They’ve continued as a distinct musical offering ever since with one live album, four studio albums (with another release due in early 2025) and countless outstanding performances. After 30 years Flook show no sign of letting-up in their brilliance, their dynamism, or inventive flair.
Early on, the band developed a trademark sound and earned their reputation as exceptional musical innovators with the whistles and flutes of Brian Finnegan and Sarah Allen, the guitar of Ed Boyd and the bodhran of John Joe Kelly. Together they spin tunes rooted in tradition over precise acoustic grooves, with a rare blend of fiery technical brilliance, delicate ensemble interaction and a bold, adventurous musical imagination.
Each of Flook’s members shows individual virtuosity. But there’s also a unique quality to when this iconic Anglo-Irish band perform together, their playing always an intuitive exchange between the various flutes, whistles, frets and skins. It’s going to be an evening and a celebration you don’t want to miss out on.
