Strength. Love. Life-affirming folk, blues and Americana.

Ferris & Sylvester are a husband-and-wife duo who’ve spent the last 10 years writing, recording and performing music together, building an ever-growing and fiercely loyal fanbase. Since meeting as solo musicians at London’s blues joint Spiritual Bar, Issy Ferris & Archie Sylvester have released albums and EPs through their label ‘Archtop Records’ and toured the globe playing festivals and selling out venues. They’ve married and grown a family too.

The duo relocated from their makeshift kitchen-studio in Streatham Hill and built a studio/label hub in the west country, writing and recording albums. Straddling the worlds of folk, blues, soul and Americana, honest storytelling that is at the centre of all they do.

Issy and Archie’s third studio album titled, ‘It’s A Joy To Be Alive’ explores finding hope and joy in the darkest parts of life, inspired by the duo’s own experiences in music, marriage and parenthood. Written and recorded in their studio and released through their label Archtop Records, this latest album is both their strongest and most vulnerable.

Ferris & Sylvester’s debut EP Made In Streatham (2018) sent them to the top of Spotify’s UK Virals chart and touring, sharing stages with their heroes including Robert Plant, while building a devoted fanbase. Their debut album ‘Superhuman’ (2022) topped the UK’s Official Blues Chart and picked up ‘UK Album of The Year’ at the 2023 UK Americana Awards. They played stages at Glastonbury, SXSW and more, with a baby on the way.

Issy and Archie’s lives took an unexpected turn in 2022 when their son was born 7 weeks early during a trip to Nashville. With the lives of baby and mother in question, their introduction to parenthood was unusual. The pair married in Centennial Park, Nashville when their son was just ten days old. Determined to return to music, they released their second album Otherness in 2024, topping UK’s Official Folk and Americana charts and receiving great reviews. It sent them on tour, selling out venues across the UK and Germany. Now, they’ve welcomed their daughter, released It’s A Joy To Be Alive and they’ll be back on the road this autumn.
