Vibey. Minimalist. Both nostalgic and modern.
“Low-key R&B legend” Eddie Chacon made an indelible mark in popular music as half of the duo Charles & Eddie, whose 1992 single “Would I Lie to You” was a number one hit heard around the world. The group’s 8-million-records-sold rocket to the stars lasted a few years, and Eddie spent the next couple of decades carving out a career as a photographer and creative director. He returned to music in 2020, with a project produced by John Carroll Kirby, who has also worked with notable artists such as Solange and Frank Ocean. Eddie signed to Stones Throw Records in 2022 where ‘Sundown,’ received widespread critical acclaim.
See how Eddie’s sound has evolved live in Gateshead with his brilliant Newcastle born and bred backing band Knats. Coincidentally, the nu jazz quintet are no strangers to our stages after supporting Blue Lab Beats and more recently Theon Cross at the BBC Introducing Prom.

“I’m super excited for Eddie Chacon in November! When I first heard that Eddie Chacon (from 90’s Pop duo ‘Charles & Eddie’) was working on a solo project, I was dubious to say the least…but then hearing the material and live sessions, especially his work with John Carrol Kirby, I was blown away! Unbelievably cool, virtuoso musicians, super chilled feel, even ethereal and other-worldly in places. I also personally love the stripped back and exposed vocal style Eddie has, mirroring equally delicate subject matter, this show is not to be missed! Would I lie to you, baby? *wink wink.”
