About Billy Mitchell and Bob Fox

Billy Mitchell and Bob Fox are masterful singers and musicians whose close harmonies and rich storytelling captivate audiences.

Billy fronted folk-rock legends Lindisfarne for eight years until 2003 and co-founded the seminal Jack the Lad. He released his debut solo album The Devil’s Ground in 2005 and recently completed two sell-out tours with The Lindisfarne Story.

Bob Fox, twice nominated for BBC Folk Singer of the Year, gained acclaim performing with Stu Luckley, winning Melody Maker – Folk Album of the Year together in 1978. Ralph McTell has praised his singing and artistry. He starred in the National Theatre’s Warhorse as the Songman.

First touring as a duo in 2006, Billy Mitchell and Bob Fox’s performances blend wit, warmth, and North East heritage with a mix of traditional and original songs. They are both members of The Pitmen Poets with fellow stellar musicians Jez Lowe and Benny Graham.
