What's happening in the music?
Luciano Berio’s musical output is hard to put into one box. Classical, sure, but also massively influenced by folk music, electronic music and even the Fab Four. Tonight’s concert culminates in a tour of the world by way of folk music, all transformed in Berio’s distinct style, which followed neatly in the footsteps of musical predecessors Verdi and Puccini. You’ll travel from America to Armenia, from France to Italy, and end up in Azerbaijan through songs that capture the essential emotional character of each nation.
