Nadedja
Brazil-born, Newcastle-based alt-pop singer/songwriter Nadedja soon releases her debut album, Daughter of the Equator Sky recorded and co-produced with Bob Mackenzie (James Blake, The 1975). It’s a journey of self-acceptance navigating Nadedja’s experience of moving to the UK for love, the joys and heartbreaks of building a life in a new country, all while trying to maintain a connection to her ancestry.
Inspired by artists like Maggie Rogers, Rosalía, Florence & the Machine and Liniker, Nadedja’s unique style combines Western pop and Brazilian música popular brasileira (MPB) influences.
Backed by PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music Award, Nadedja’s also been championed by The Glasshouse, The Ivors Academy and the BBC. She’s supported Mica Paris and Rose Cousins, and played festivals like Latitude, Lindisfarne and SXSW London. Her singles ‘Twilight’ and ‘Unfold’ have featured on ITV2’s Love Island.
Isabel Maria
18-year-old singer-songwriter Isabel Maria has been shattering expectations since 2021. Having recently won a North East Culture Award, joining her Alan Hulland Northern Writers Awards, her alt-pop exploring mental health, human relationships, and self deprecation have earned her international praise from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and Rolling Stone Español.
Based in Sunderland, a Music City, Isabel’s career began with secret songs written on her grandad’s old Casio. After generous support from the city’s Young Musicians Project, those were made public, earning Isabel hundreds of thousands of streams plus shows across the UK and beyond.
For fans of Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams, Isabel’s music showcases her emotional vulnerability and biting wit. Having just been named a BBC Introducing One to Watch for 2025, you should keep your eyes out for Isabel Maria.
