Andrew McCormack Trio with Special Guest Kyle Eastwood
Acclaimed. Rhythmic. Two celebrated international bandleaders.
Andrew McCormack welcomes renowned bassist and long-term bandmate Kyle Eastwood as a special guest in his trio for a limited spring 2024 tour, including a show at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music. It will also feature respected jazz musician Rod Youngs on drums and music from Andrew’s most recent ‘5 Star’ trio album, Terra Firma.
Andrew’s worked with an impressive array of internationally established musicians, including Randy Brecker, Quincy Jones, Jamie Cullum, Jean Toussaint, and Jason Yarde. He also toured as part of the Kyle Eastwood Quintet. He’s contributed to the scores and orchestrations of several Clint Eastwood films alongside Kyle in his recent Symphonic project.
After studying film at University of Southern California, Kyle embarked on a music career. He became a session player in the early 1990s, leading his own quartet and released his first solo album, From There to Here (1998). His album The View From Here (2013) was released by Jazz Village. In addition to his solo albums, Eastwood has composed music for nine of his father’s Clint Eastwood films. Eastwood plays fretted and fretless electric bass guitar and double bass.
