Brass. As good as it gets!
Question: what do you get when 11 of Europe’s finest brass bands come together under one roof? Answer: the brassiest bash around!
The Brass in Concert Championship is brass band contesting like you’ve never seen before. In fact, we’d go so far as to say it’s the Eurovision of banding – with the same level of excitement and supporter loyalty.
How is it different, you ask? Well, creative programming, innovative lighting and choreography are but a few of the ways in which Brass in Concert is the premiere brass band entertainment contest. No band performs in the same way, or with the same music. Each one brings a unique concept and theme to the day, kept firmly under wraps until the week of the contest (so mysterious).
Previous years have seen the stage play host to pop culture icons, historic battles and seafaring journeys, and more than one fairytale.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or a brass newbie, Brass in Concert is not to be missed. Oh, and did we mention that the bar will stay open for the afterparty?

Who's on stage
Whilst we can’t share any details yet, it’s bound to be iconic when this year’s bands are:
Aldbourne, Brighouse and Rastrick, Cory, Flowers, Fodens, KNDS Fairey, GUS, Schoonhoven, Cooperation Band, Kleppe Musikklag, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery
Hosting the day is none other than Frank Renton, a living legend in the world of brass bands, having led Grimethorpe Colliery to their famous victory at the National Championships depicted in the film Brassed Off!
And if all that isn’t enough for you, here’s a fun fact: The 2023 Recent Championships have seen as many 48 pieces of new music performed for the first time in one day – that’s double the world premieres at the 2024 Proms!
The Brass in Concert Championship is the headline event of the annual Brass in Concert weekend, which exists to nurture and showcase Britain’s beloved brass band movement.
Sponsored by Banks Group and Yamaha and delivered in partnership with World of Brass.
