Sci-Fi Weekender

Friday 7 - Sunday 9 May 2027

Big sounds. Big ideas. Big skies.

This is a weekend for anyone who’s ever stared up at the stars, rooted for the rebels, or wondered what happens when machines get a little too clever. You don’t need to know your Holst from your hyperspace. Just bring your imagination.

Sinfonia of London shoot for the stars and end up visiting every planet in the solar system, one by one. Gustav Holst’s The Planets is one of the most popular pieces of classical music ever written – hearing it live will show you why.

Royal Northern Sinfonia take one giant leap for orchestra-kind with two of the most iconic sci-films ever made – Metropolis and Star Wars: A New Hope. Both changed cinema forever. Both have epic soundtracks that shine even brighter played live, timed perfectly to the action on screen.
