National Apprenticeship Week 2022
“It’s a really good way to support people within the business who might not flourish in traditional education pathways.” Thomas Storey – Sage Gateshead.
Sage Gateshead proudly supports National Apprenticeship Week 2022 #NAW2022, taking place February 7-15. As a member of the North East Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, we believe in celebrating the success of our apprentices, people like Thomas Storey.
“When I hit the end of my A-Levels, I was thinking, what do I go onto now? I applied to university, and they didn’t do anything that was hands-on or technical; it’s more computer science. My friends said apprenticeships could be something to look into.”
NAW2022 is the 15th annual celebration bringing together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact apprenticeships make to individuals, communities and the economy.
The way it’s done on the apprenticeships is that you get experience on-site, and you also go to additional training. It’s much better for people like me who don’t like the [traditional] idea of going to uni.”
Thomas is a systems and infrastructure administrator at Sage Gateshead. He recently completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Digital and Technology Solutions as part of his apprenticeship.
The theme for this year’s event is “Build the Future”. Sage Gateshead is excited to be part of telling the story of how apprenticeships help develop a talented workforce with future-ready skills.
