Weekend School Application Process

Key dates and information about applying for the 26-27 academic year

For existing students and families

The information below is designed to help families with their Weekend School applications. If you require any further help, please email youngmusicians@theglasshouseicm.org.

Non-Auditioned Programmes (Saturdays)

Month Details
February 2026 Existing Weekend School participants will be invited to reapply and indicate whether they wish to continue with the same programme(s) or add/change. This will be done through the same application form as for new applicants and will be processed along with those, but those continuing on the same programme will be guaranteed a place for 26/27. To apply for a bursary you must complete the relevant section of the application form, including if you are existing participant in receipt of a bursary.
9 March 2026 New applications open. New applicants will be asked to create an account with The Glasshouse. Please remember the email and password that you use to create this account as you will need it for the duration of your application. To apply for a bursary you must complete the relevant section of the application form, including if you are existing participant in receipt of a bursary.
28 April 2026 Applications close.
May 2026 Applications and bursaries processed internally.
End of June 2026 Places and bursaries offered. Successful applicants will receive an email indicating the programme(s) for which you have been offered a place, bursary awarded (where relevant), links to accept place(s) and confirmed term dates.
June 2026 Bursaries offered/confirmed.
17 July 2026 Deadline for accepting your place. To accept your place you will need to complete an acceptance form and set up payment for fees/apply bursary allocation (if relevant). Fees and bursaries are processed through The Glasshouse Box Office and are attributed to the account that you created when you applied. Bursary amounts are added onto your account, and this will show in the email confirmation you receive. There may be fees remaining if you have received a part bursary.
August 2026 We will confirm your timetable, tutor(s) and any important dates ahead of term starting on Saturday 11 September.

 

Auditioned Programmes (Sundays and auditioned ensembles)

9 March 2026 New applications open. New applicants will be asked to create an account with The Glasshouse. Please remember the email and password that you use to create this account as you will need it for the duration of your application. To apply for a bursary you must complete the relevant section of the application form, including if you are existing participant in receipt of a bursary.
28 April 2026 Applications close.
Beginning of May 2026 Students invited to submit videos for auditions. You can find more information about the audition process here.
26 May 2026 Deadline for submission of audition videos.
22 June 2026 Places offered. Successful applicants will receive an email indicating the programme(s) for which you have been offered a place, bursary awarded (where relevant), links to accept place(s) and confirmed term dates. For the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) you will be sent information about applying for the Department for Education’s Music and Dance Scheme (MDS) bursary. If you are not successful, we will provide detailed feedback to support your application next year or signpost you to other suitable programmes.
6 July 2026 Deadline for return of MDS bursary application forms (CAT only)
17 July 2026 Deadline for accepting your place. To accept your place you will need to complete an acceptance form and set up payment for fees/apply bursary allocation (if relevant). Fees and bursaries are processed through The Glasshouse Box Office and are attributed to the account that you created when you applied. Bursary amounts are added onto your account, and this will show in the email confirmation you receive. There may be fees remaining if you have received a part bursary.
August 2026 We will confirm your timetable, tutor(s) and any important dates ahead of term starting on Sunday 12th September (CAT) or later for auditioned ensembles.
