Vocal Programme

Find your voice with expert vocal training from our friendly and experienced tutors.
Alongside one-to-one lessons and music language classes, you’ll take part in Singers Toolkit and Performance Class each week—where you’ll refine your repertoire, develop performance techniques, and bring music to life, from the page to the stage. You’ll also join either our Contemporary Ensemble Class or Classical Ensemble Class, depending on your interests.
We encourage vocalists to explore different styles, from classical and musical theatre to contemporary commercial music (CCM). Many students take exams up to diploma level with boards like ABRSM, Trinity, LCM, and Rockschool. Most singers also pick up a second study instrument—usually piano, which we highly recommend.
Masterclasses and workshops with world-class artists are a big part of the programme. Past guests include Professor Lynne Dawson, Andri Björn Róbertsson, Benjamin Appl, Deborah York, and jazz singers Sylwia Bialas and Ian Shaw.
Performance opportunities are plentiful, and students are encouraged to step onto the stage whenever they’re ready.
We generally accept singers aged 14 and over, as vocal maturity is an important factor—but younger students with exceptional potential are always considered.
We also encourage our singers to apply for an audition for Quay Voices which rehearses fortnightly throughout the year.

‘I found the students to have been very well taught; of course all at different stages of development but they were all responsive and attentive. They seemed to have a real love for their repertoire and this is super to see. I really enjoyed working with them.’
