Share the Stage: A Child of Our Time
Want to perform on the world-famous main stage at The Glasshouse? Imagine singing or playing alongside some of the North East’s most dazzling musicians.
On Sunday 24 November 2024, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia are performing Michael Tippett’s choral masterpiece A Child of Our Time in Sage One. You could be too.
We’re looking for non-professional musicians to play with the orchestra and sing with the chorus in one of the biggest performing groups the region will have ever seen.
“You’ll be welcomed. You’ll be nurtured. You’ll be cared for. You’ll be supported by people either side of you. Whatever bits you don’t know, they will. Time is short, just do it.” – Peter, Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia member.

If you love singing classical music
Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia is made up of enthusiastic non-professional singers. As a Chorus member you’ll perform with the orchestra several times a year. You’ll also be part of other concerts and projects at The Glasshouse and around the North East.
You need to be able to read sheet music and there will be an audition with the Chorus Director, after you’ve been to a few rehearsals and got a feel for the music. If that sounds a bit intimidating, try not to worry, we’ll do our best to put you at ease and help you succeed.
