Explore What’s Possible
No two days at The Glasshouse are the same, and neither are our school visits.
Whether your students want to get hands-on in a music workshop, discover the secrets behind the scenes on a building tour, or experience an open rehearsal, you can choose the activities that suit your group best.
Mix and match experiences to create a visit that works for your timetable, budget and students, with accessible facilities and support available to help everyone get the most from their day.
Choose from a range of experiences, including:
- Music Workshops
Hands-on sessions that get your children & young people singing, playing, creating and exploring music together. - Building Tours
Go behind the scenes and discover what makes The Glasshouse tick, from our world-class concert halls to the people who make everything happen. - Open Rehearsals
Watch the Royal Northern Sinfonia at work and experience music in the making as musicians prepare for performance. - Packed Lunch Space
A dedicated space where your group can enjoy packed lunches and take a break during your visit.
Our team will work closely with you to create a visit that fits your budget, timetable and learning objectives, ensuring every child gets the most out of their experience, whether it’s a short morning session or a full-day musical adventure.
Bring learning to life through music. Build your visit your way.
Need to know
School visits are available on selected Wednesdays to Fridays during term time.
Visit timings are flexible, but as The Glasshouse opens to the public at 9.30am, most visits take place between 10am and 2.30pm.
The more notice you can give us, the better. We require a minimum of four weeks notice to arrange a visit, and dates are not confirmed until you receive confirmation from our team.
Open rehearsal places are limited and subject to availability. If you’d like to include an open rehearsal as part of your visit, we recommend enquiring as early as possible.
Accompanying adults are encouraged to take part in all aspects of the visit and remain responsible for their group’s behaviour throughout.
If you have any questions, or want to explore your options, complete the enquiry form and one of the team will be happy to help.
