Gift membership FAQs
It’s super easy and quick to buy a gift membership.
Online: You can buy any gift membership online through your The Glasshouse account.
In person: You can buy your gift membership at our Box Office. Their standard opening hours are from 12noon Wednesday to Sunday. Do please check our website for the latest Box Office opening hours as they can change from week to week.
By Phone: Just call our friendly Box Office team on 0191 443 4661 and pay using a credit/debit card.
You will receive an order confirmation email for yourself as purchaser. You’ll then receive a second email a short time later with the gift membership voucher number and details of how to activate the membership. This is for you to pass on to the lucky gift recipient.
To activate the membership:
- Follow this link
- Choose the membership type to the value that has been gifted
- Log in to your existing account, or create a new one
- On the payment screen enter the gift membership code in the gift certificate ID section and select ‘Apply Gift Voucher’
- Read the Privacy Notice, click agree, then Checkout
Once the membership has been activated, a welcome email (or letter for those without an email) will then be sent to the gift recipient within 3 working days.
Gift membership emails are only sent to the purchaser, who can forward the email to the gift recipient.
It’s easy and quick to activate a gift membership:

Any gift memberships not redeemed within 3 months of the purchase date will be deemed as a donation to our charity (North Music Trust, registered charity number 1087445).
Gift memberships start when the recipient activates their membership online, with our Box Office on 0191 443 4661 (open from 12noon Wednesday to Sunday) or with Natalie Heath, Development Manager on 0191 443 5038 (office hours Monday to Friday).
Gift memberships must be activated within 3 months of the date of purchase. Any memberships not activated within this time period will be deemed a donation to our charity (North Music Trust, registered charity number 1087445)
And now, the dry but important bits - it’s time for the terms and conditions
- Gift membership vouchers can be redeemed and activated in person, over the phone or online.
- Gift membership vouchers can be used as a full or part payment for a membership to the value shown on the voucher. No change is given
- Gift memberships cannot be exchanged for concert tickets, other goods, or cash.
- Gift memberships cannot be applied retrospectively.
- Once the gift membership voucher has been redeemed, the chosen membership becomes active and you immediately start to get your benefits. The voucher cannot be used again.
