Summer Music at Yarm
Who’s on Stage
Musicians from our own Royal Northern Sinfonia in the intimate surroundings of The Princess Alexandra Auditorium, Yarm.
What they’re playing
A beautiful evening of classical music that’ll leave you feeling refreshed and ready for summer.
Samuel Barbers Summer Music is a wind player’s dream, weaving each instrument’s individual colours and sounds together in a lush, slightly wistful soundscape. The string section takes the lead for the rest of the evening, playing the jaunty folk rhythms and rich, resonating chords of Antonin Dvorak’s String Sextet. Caroline Shaw’s dramatic modern piece Punctum and an elegant quintet by favourite Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
