Who’s on stage

The musicians of Royal Northern Sinfonia, directed by Artistic Partner Maria Włoszczowska and co-leader Kyra Humphreys, in some of the region’s most beautiful churches and theatres.

What they’re playing

A selection of beautiful, atmospheric pieces carefully chosen to make you feel warm from the inside out, including music by Bach, Corelli, Vivaldi and Sibelius.

Need to know

Price: £20 – £25 (adults), £5 (children).

Timings: 2 hours, including a 20 minute interval.

Age: under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets for Cullercoats, Ripon, Hexham, Alnwick, Hartlepool, Darlington and Newcastle will go off sale on the website at 3pm on the day of the concert. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door.

What's happening in the music

There’s nothing Royal Northern Sinfonia enjoy more than lighting up beautiful buildings with glorious classical music on dark winter nights. Travelling from Carlisle to Cullercoats, Bishop Auckland to Berwick, Hartlepool to Hexham, it’s their biggest tour yet and more music fans in the North will see this spectacular candlelit concert than ever before. Expect to hear the orchestra’s signature blend of classical chart-toppers and lesser-known gems, brimming with energy and excitement.
