Thinking Big: Mendelssohn Octet

An all strings programme featuring works by composers who were breaking the moulds of traditional forms and re-inventing them on a larger scale. Programme includes Mendelssohn’s celebrated Octet and music by Bach and Walton.

A showcase for RNS’ complete wind section plus guests, focussing on Mozart’s much-loved Gran Partita, famously featured in the Oscar-winning blockbuster Amadeus. Programme also includes pieces by Debussy, Strauss and more.
