Newcastle International Chamber Music Series - Eblana String Trio and Jâms Coleman (piano)
Exuberant. Joyful. Top-tier tunes.
Who’s on stage
The stellar artists of the Eblana String Trio and pianist Jâms Coleman team up for this vibrant performance.
What they’re playing
The string trios in the first half include Schubert’s tuneful single movement work and an engaging five movement Serenade, with its spiky scherzo, by Hungarian Ernst von Dohnányi. Gerald Finzi’s short prelude and fugue features in the Eblana trio’s recording of British works. Brahms continues the Hungarian theme in his monumental first piano quartet, which ends with a rollicking Hungarian dance.
