What a way to start the season! Three pieces each of which are absolute treats. Beethoven’s Third Piano concerto is exquisitely, achingly beautiful while Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony provides one of the most memorable endings ever written – it’s like it has a jet engine behind it, gathering speed and excitement all the time. Mendelssohn’s Overture starts the concert – evocative music that captures all the magic of Shakespeares’ play.
