Micah P. Hinson

Raw. Resilient. Americana with a European edge.
In early 2020, Micah P. Hinson almost ended his music career. The esoteric Americana / folk singer-songwriter – who splits his time between Texas and Spain – had released ten critically acclaimed albums and built up a loyal fanbase (particularly in Europe), yet he felt trapped and depressed.
Thankfully, through working with Italian producer Alessandro “Asso” Stefana (PJ Harvey and Mike Patton), who steered Hinson towards a stripped-down style that beautifully showcases his intensely honest and evocative lyrics, the artist found a new lease of life on his album I Lie to you.
Now, without the past weighing him down, it’ll be exciting to see which direction Hinson takes on upcoming album The Tomorrow Man, also produced by Asso. They’re all new compositions, beyond the long-lost country classic ‘The Last Train To Texas’, written from his present and current times which have become landmark songs in his life.

About Micah P. Hinson

Born in Memphis and raised in Texas, Micah P. Hinson is of Chickasaw descent and grew up in a strict religious household.
As a teen, he rejected his religious background and embraced music, crafting songs influenced by industrial and alternative rock. He turned to playing the acoustic guitar, but retained the edge of his influences.
Having a complicated living situation and being in dire straits early in his career, one of Micah’s friends shared his recordings with a London label, leading to a record deal and his acclaimed 2004 debut, Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress.
Now a father, Hinson continues evolving. On his most recent albums he’s been working with producer Alessandro “Asso” Stefana who’s worked with PJ Harvey and Mike Patton.
