Mt. Misery
Initially a solo-project for Hartlepool based multi-instrumentalist Andrew Smith, Mt. Misery ‘officially’ became a band in early 2019 and firm favourites on the North East indie-pop circuit.
Their well received debut album ‘Once Home, No Longer’ was released via Prefect Records in 2021, alongside a long-since sold-out limited edition Rough Trade Exclusive vinyl. A digital EP followed in August 2022, thanks to the support of PRS Foundation’s ‘Open Fund’.
Mt. Misery recently added a fourth member and bought distortion pedals. They also had an eventful week at cottage on the banks of Loch Fyne, western Scotland where they dealt with peak midge season and the water going off on the second to last day. But most importantly they recorded their new album here, which is due for release in November 2024.
At the show, you can expect a whimsical live performance that’ll both break hearts and put smiles on faces.
Cat Ryan
Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne, Cat Ryan showcase an exhilarating brand of Indie-Pop/Gaze in their atmospheric live shows. Their distinct sound, with angular melodies and infectious rhythms, echoes the likes of Vampire Weekend and Bombay Bicycle Club.
Led by singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Mary-Anne Murphy, the indie quartet has solidified their position at the forefront of the emerging music scene, supporting the likes of Sundara Karma and Sprints, plus gracing prominent festival stages including Truck and Y NOT Festival.
Following the success of their debut EP, ‘King of the World’, at the end of 2023, Cat Ryan participated in Summer Studios at The Glasshouse in 2024 and have an exciting new project in the works for later this year.
