Our very own Royal Northern Sinfonia kicks off the new season at Middlesbrough Town Hall in style alongside guest conductor Kristian Sallinen and exciting classical guitarist Craig Ogden.

What they’re playing

Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto, the Concierto de Aranjuez will take you away from autumnal Middlesbrough, to feel the heat of the Mediterranean sun, and enjoy the sights and sounds of yesteryear Spain.

Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 is, on the surface, full of the composer’s trademark elegance, but underneath the veneer, it’s a darker piece. There’s anger, force, and passion there; with a dramatic bleakness in the second movement lightened by the scampering rhythm of the hyperactive ending.

You’ll also dip your toes into the world of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet Pulcinella.

This concert includes a free pre-concert talk from 6:30pm. Doors Open 7pm.
