Brahms’ Violin Concerto

Who’s on stage
Royal Northern Sinfonia is directed by Artistic Partner Maria Włoszczowska for this evening’s concert.
What they’re playing
Gorgeous melodies, richly satisfying musical textures, and a solo part that leaves the audience open-mouthed with wonder; Brahms’ Violin Concerto stops you in your tracks – it’s no wonder that it’s been a favourite pretty much since its premiere. It’s in good company tonight, with the power and passion of Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, inspired by the composer’s fond memories of time spent in Italy.
This concert includes a free pre-concert talk at 6.30pm in the auditorium.
