2025 North East England Five Universities Chinese New Year Gala

The North East England Five Universities Chinese New Year Gala is proudly hosted at The Glasshouse by the Newcastle University Chinese Students and Scholars Association, in collaboration with the Newcastle University Confucius Institute, Durham University Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Northumbria University Students’ Union, Sunderland University Students’ Union, and Teesside University Students’ Union.
Since its inception in 2008, this cultural extravaganza has grown to become the largest and most influential Chinese New Year celebration in the region. This year’s event will take place with the participation of municipal representatives from Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, and Teesside, as well as university officials and esteemed social figures from all five institutions.
